Senior NC leader and MLA Mendhar Javed Ahmed Rana today castigated PDP led JK Government for repeatedly ignoring Mendhar Sub-Division and assembly segment, he represents, over varied issues of developmental concerns.Addressing NC delegates from across Mendhar, here at NC office, Rana accused PDP and her coalition partner for deliberately punishing people of Mendhar on partisan political considerations. He said people of Mendhar will come out with a befitting reply in the ensuing assembly elections to teach the present dispensation lesson in democracy.Rana said Mendhar which is a geographically and administratively unique unit and far off from district headquarters is the most deserving administrative unit in Pir Panjal region that should have been declared a district. He said contrary to reason and logic, the present dispensation without application of mind has installed four Additional Deputy Commissioners in four tehsils of Rajouri thereby hurting people of Mendhar who have long been demanding upgradation of administrative machinery here.
Echoing the public sentiment, Rana who has long been urging and fighting at various fora in the Government to recognize unique geographic and strategic location of Mendhar, said people of Mendhar are going to launch a mass movement to achieve district for them."NC Mendhar has chalked out a comprehensive strategy to make concerted efforts to achieve district status. We will also involve people of all sections and political opinions to make it a mass movement ," the NC leader informed.Meanwhile, the lawmaker has urged both India and Pakistan to respect basic human rights of people living along LoC and stop senseless violence on LoC that has put lives of LoC residents in perpetual jeopardy."We are appalled at the extremity of non-seriousness being exhibited by Government of India and utter absence of any rehabilitation and resettlement plan for LoC residents. Successive Governments have abandoned us and left us at the mercy of Pak Rangers," Rana rued.The senior NC leader from Mendhar also hinted at Maha Rally of all the villagers living along LoC in Pir Panjal region to ventilate their unending grievance before people of India so that their right to life & liberty and welfare are taken seriously.
