While presiding over the Annual ' Gurukul Shiksha Utsav' at Gurukul Kurukshetra in Haryana today, Governor Acharya Devvrat said that Gurukul education system was an ideology where overall development of the pupil could be ensured.Chief Minister Shri Jai Ram Thakur was also present as the Chief Guest on the occasion.Acharya Devvrat said that Gurukul Kurukshetra was 106 years old institution and today it was counted among top educational institutions of the country. This institute was not only imparting quality education to their students but also responsible for overall development of the students.The Governor honoured the Chief Minister by presenting memento on the occasion.Chief Minister Shri Jai Ram Thakur while addressing the gathering on the occasion said that institution was a fine example of how one can blend ancient system of education with the modern education in order to build a responsive, cultured and civilized society. He said that Gurukul has achieved new heights under the guidance of Governor Acharya Devvrat. He said that our country was once known a "Vishav Guru" as special emphasis was given on values (sanskars). He reposed his full faith that the Gurukul would help in bringing back the lost glory of our past.He said that Gurukul has not only doing a commendable work in the field of education but the endeavours of the Trust to show a way to the entire world regarding adopting zero budget natural framing were also laudable. He said that this example of Gurukul should be adopted throughout the country.
He said that the State of Himachal Pradesh has made a special provision of Rs. 25 crore in the budget proposed for the year 2018-19 to promote zero budget natural farming in the State. He said that this was not only pure, safe and profitable but also hoped that it would transform the economy of the farmers.Jai Ram Thakur said that the people of the State were honoured to have Acharya Devvrat as the Governor of the State. He said that the State Government would ensure that the zero budget natural farming was adopted in the State in a big way. He said that recently a team of officers from State Agriculture Department and Agriculture and Horticulture Universities had visited Gurukul and given its suggestions to the Government regarding promoting zero budget natural farming in the State. He said that zero budget natural farming required minimum inputs and give maximum profits.The Chief Minister visited the Gurukul farms and envisaged keen interest in zero budget natural farming. He also visited the shooting range and tried his hand at 10 meter shooting.Governor and Chief Minister also released the annual calendar in which the activities, events and achievements of the Gurukul have been depicted.Principal Gurukul Col. Arun Dutta welcomed the Governor on the occasion and said that our institution has well-defined education system and imparting moral based education besides quality education to the students. Shri Satpal Singh Satti, President, State BJP, Shri Kulwant Saini, Pradhan, Gurukul and other prominent people were also present on the occasion.
