The Welfare Minister, Punjab, Sadhu Singh Dharamsot has said that the charitable institutions of various countries have made precious contributions throughout the world in social welfare and philanthropic sector. The minister was here today addressing a religious function concerned with Mata Amritanandmayi. He was present at the function on behalf of the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh.The minister said that Mata Amritanandmayi Devi is known all over the world as 'Amma' owing to her selfless service towards humanity and kind nature and her whole life is dedicated to lessen the worries and ameliorating the lot of people who are depressed physically and emotionally. He also revealed that till now, Mata Amritanandmayi Devi has made better the lives of more than 3.7 crore people by teaching them positive attitude towards life with the help of her spirituality and renowned charitable institutions around the globe. The minister further elaborated that these charitable institutions around the world are jointly known as 'Embracing The World'.
Mr. Dharamsot also disclosed that Mata Amritanandmayi Devi under the worldwide charitable mission has set a target of constructing 1 lakh homes alongwith 3 orphanages for the homeless people which is a significant step in the service of human race. Further adding, he said that aprt from this, the relief and rehabilitation efforts, free medical aid during natural disasters and helping widows as well as differently abled people through pensions is also a part of this charitable mission.The minister also said that it is a very noble deed on the part of Mata Amritanandmayi Devi to dedicate her life to service of humanity and exhorting people of all faiths to live their lives in accordance with the principles enshrined in their religion.Mr. Dharamsot further added that the Captain Amarinder Singh led government is taking welfare measures for the benefit of every section of the society inhabiting the state. He also divulged that the state government is executing various path breaking schemes such as waiving off the debt of the farmers, all round development of the people belonging to the poor, backward classes and Scheduled Caste sections so as to ensure their dignified and better life.
