Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Mir Saifullah has directed the district administration Kupwara to press all men and machinery to open all the snow bound interior roads of the district that are still closed due to the recent heavy snowfall.Appreciating the administration for acting swiftly to clear all the main roads of the district on day first, the Minister stressed upon the administration to clear all the link roads of the border district particularly the far off roads of the area of Budnambal, Jumgund, Kralpora, Dardsun, Panzgam of Kupwara, Kalaroos,Tikipora, Haithpora, Kurhama, Lalpora of Lolab, Mawar, Nowagam of Langate and Viilgam , Zachaldra area of Handwara so that stranded movement of people is restored at the earliest. He said the clearance of all road communications particularly rural areas of the district is priority of the administration to ensure hassle free movement of the local populace otherwise the roads could become slippery due to dry weather and freezing temperature.Mr. Mir also asked the Bacon authorities to accelerate their men and machinery for immediate reopening of Kupwara- Tangdhar road.
The Minister directed the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara to monitor personally the restoration of electricity particularly in far off villages and ensure availability of ration, K.Oil, Cooking gas and other essentials in every area of the district so that people could not face any inconvenience. He further directed that Disaster Management Committees at district level need to be operationalize to set the defected public delivery system back on rails.
