Calling film medium the most purposeful way of creating awareness about an issue, the Cultural Affairs and Tourism Minister, Punjab, Mr. Navjot Singh Sidhu today said that the upcoming movie 'Khido Khundi' would prove to be a milestone in creating awareness regarding the game of hockey and village Sansarpur the place which is known as the nursery of the game. The minister expressed these views here today at Hotel JW Marriott while launching the trailer and poster of the upcoming movie 'Khido Khundi'.Mr. Sidhu also interacted with the cast and crew of the movie and effusively praised the strenuous efforts put up by them. He further said that hockey and sansarpur were once synonymous with each other as most of the players of the National Hockey Team hailed at some point of time from sansarpur. He also added that hockey is deeply ingrained in the blood of Punjabis. Adding more, he advocated a comprehensive policy to popularize the game which has given 8 gold medals in Olympics to the country. He also made a case to incentivize the players so as to make the game attractive to them leading to job security. The minister also exhorted the filmmakers to make more movies with the subject of sports in focus in order to ensure that the youth channelizes all its energies on sports field which would lead to making India a powerhouse not just in hockey but in sporting arena as a whole.On the occasion, lead actors of the movie Ranjit Bawa and Mandy Takhar, Producers Talwinder Hayer and Kavanjit Hayer, Director Rohit Jugraj were also present besides Advocate Harpreet Singh Sandhu.
