DDC asks ACD to ensure awareness of schemes by beating drums

District Development Commissioner Kishtwar, Angrez Singh Rana today chaired District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting to review the progress made by banks and line departments.The meeting was attended by officials of RBI, LDM, JCC bank, PNB, NRLM, Fisheries, DIC, EDI, DUDA, Horticulture, Agriculture, Animal & Sheep Husbandry Departments, Senior Managers of banks and other sponsoring agencies operating in Kishtwar.The meeting discussed in detail , the progress and achievements made by the banks in the implementation of various government-sponsored schemes like Kissan Credit Card, Self Help Group under NULM, Housing for all, handloom weavers, mapping of schools with banks, SHGs sponsored by DRDA/NGO/agriculture department and NABARD, JLGs, Artisan Credit Card, and Stand Up India.The agenda of the meeting included approval of annual action plan for the year 2018-19, allotment of state land to RSETI for construction of building, review of the progress of RSETI up to December 2017, sponsoring of BPL unemployed candidates for training by line departments, sponsoring of at least 5 candidates per month by all the banks for EDP training RSETI, credit linkage of the trained candidates per month by all the banks for EDP training to RSETI and credit linkage of the trained candidates by Banks/ financial institutions to be given special attention. Besides, loans provided by banks under direct lending mode was also discussed.

   Stressing upon greater coordination between banks, line departments and RSETI, the DDC asked on enhancement in overall credit flow of banks in the district which is important for financial impetus and improving income levels and thereby raising standard of living of people. He called for focused attention on dairy and sheep husbandry sectors for creation of income generating units in far-flung areas. The DDC asked the concerned to adopt effective modus operandi to spread awareness of schemes among masses across the district.   He also asked bank authorities to ensure awareness with regard to financial literacy  by organizing awareness camps to educate the masses about various banking products and Government sponsored schemes. Taking cognizance of low CD ratio recorded in the district, the DDC and LDO RBI enjoined upon the banks to improve it. The line departments were asked to sponsor self employment local cases at an earliest so that the beneficiaries get  benefitted. The  ADC was advised to conduct meetings with regard to KCC loans at an earliest.
