Mocking at the Congress’ latest tactics of fielding many of its known faces in the Lok Sabha Polls, Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal President Shiromani Akali Dal and Deputy Chief Minister Punjab today said that all the Congress wood has become embers and now in his last attempt to keep the fire going Rahul put all the embers and kindling like Manpreet in the oven. He said that Gandhi family’s poking or blowing might make the embers and kindling glow red but they would turn into ash by the end of these Lok Sabha polls.Interacting with media while campaigning for SAD-BJP candidate from Bathinda Mrs. Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Akali President said that people now vote for performance rather than ‘facets’ but Congress party has not learnt this lesson even after repeated defeats. He said it also seemed that Rahul was killing two birds with one stone, on one hand he was trying to save the dying fire of Congress party and on the other he dig the pit to burry all the senior leaders of the party. “Electorates would wipe out the Congress-led UPA Government for its decade-long misdoings. Manpreet has committed a political suicide when he quit the Shiromani Akali Dal at the beck of some Congress leaders and now he would also meet the same fate his fellow congressmen are going to meet”, he added.
Referring to the events that took place in the Indian political scene over recent years while addressing series of political rallies at Bhucho Mandi and Bathinda city, Mr. Badal said that Congress party can as well forget coming to power in the states like Punjab, Tamilnadu, Andhra, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Bihar, Orissa, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh. He said that UP rejected outright the entire Gandhi family, even in their home-turfs of Amethi and Rai Bareilli, indicating that the mother-son duo would have to find safer constituencies to be able to win. He said that Congress has no future as a National Party and its anti states record would keep it at a distance from regional politics. “Congress' doomsday is inevitable and it would not remain on the national political map by the end of 16th Lok Sabha polls. I want to suggest the people of Punjab to tolerate the last cry and misleading statements of Congress leadership and their coterie as these are just like last flames emitted by cinders before it dries”, he added.
Seeking votes for SAD-BJP alliance to ensure speedy development of Punjab and the area, Mr. Badal said that the SAD-BJP alliance has done marvelous job in the state by placing it on the path of rapid growth despite the step motherly attitude of Congress led UPA government. He said that the alliance from the very first day of its return to government has reinstated its development program. He said that besides continuing its pro people policies like free power to farmers, atta-dal scheme for 17 lakh families and Shagun scheme for the economically and socially depressed classes, alliance has initiated the sewerage program worth rupees 9200 crores for all the towns and cities of state, linking all the cities of the state with 4-6 lanning road at the cost of rupees 12000 crores. He said that after achieving the unique distinction of becoming self-reliant in power recently held progressive Punjab investment summit and Agriculture summit had attracted big industrial houses to the state and set the pace to make Punjab an ultimate industrial and IT destination and foremost state in agricultural persification. Once elected as Prime Minister of India Mr. Narinder Modi and Mr. Parkash Singh Badal duo would double the pace of development in Punjab, he added.
