A review meeting regarding poll preparedness and other arrangements for upcoming Parliamentary Elections-2014 was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Mr. Farooq Ahmad Shah, who is also the District Election Officer of Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency here today.District Election Officer, Ganderbal, Mr. Sarmad Hafeez, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Budgam, Assistant Returning Officers and officers of Police and other concerned Officers were present in the meeting.The meeting discussed threadbare various issues regarding conduct of Lok Sabha Elections in Srinagar Constituency in a fair, free and transparent manner.Pertinently, the Srinagar Constituency comprises of three districts which include Srinagar, Ganderbal and Budgam where the said elections are scheduled to be held on April 30, 2014.Various measures to be taken up for ensuring peaceful and smooth conduct of elections were discussed in the meeting which include setting up of Polling Stations, Strong Rooms, Collection and Distribution Centres besides arrangements for transportation of election material and deployment/ferrying of election staff.The meeting also reviewed the security scenario and pace of election related training being imparted to poll staff.
