Choudhary Lal Singh urges parents to enroll children in schools for better future

Minister for Forests, Ecology and Environment Choudhary Lal Singh has called upon the parents to send wards to schools for their better future and enable them to contribute in the development of the country.This was stated by the Minister while addressing a large gathering of students, parents, teaching and Non-teaching staff members of the Dogra Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar during its 52nd Annual Day and Prize Distribution function at the Auditorium of Government College for Women Gandhi Nagar, here today. The annual day celebration started with lighting the traditional lamp and thereafter ‘Vandana’ song was presented by the students of the school in their melodious voice.Director School Education  Jammu Ravinder Singh, Chairman of the School Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, Principal Devinder Kaur, Managing Director of the Institute Ghambir Dev Singh Charak besides parents of the children were present on the occasion.The audiences appreciated the cultural items presented by the students during its school annual day function.

Addressing the gathering, Choudhary Lal Singh appreciated the efforts of kids for presenting colorful programme. He said such type of events not only giving platform to the children to expose their hidden talent but also come to know about their cultural heritage.The Minister asked the teaching fraternity to provide quality as well as moral values in the school to the students. He said teachers are the main architect who shaping the personality of students by giving them quality education.Choudhary Lal Singh highlighting the role of the teachers and parents in the life of children, he said a child is nourished by parents while the teacher shapes his personality and gives his life a new direction. He called upon the parents to send their wards to schools for becoming good citizens of the country.The Minister asked the students community to work for unity and integrity of the country and also appealed the parents to come forward and support their children in this mission so that India becomes stronger day by day.

Choudhary Lal Singh further said that the Government is making all out efforts to expand the reach of education to farthest areas by opening new schools so that the students get education at their doorsteps. He further said that Government is remitting fee and also providing free uniform and books to those poor children who are not getting education due to financial constraints.The Minister asked the students to work hard and show their excellence in coming exams. He said education is vital for their better tomorrow and asked students to share their knowledge with each other.Earlier, in her welcome address, Principal of the school Devinder Kour read out the annual report and expressed gratitude to parents for their cooperation and frequent interaction to make the programme an impressive one.Later, the Minister distributed mementos among the students who participated in cultural programme and also to the meritorious students who brought laurels for schools in academic in 2016-17 exams.
