An awareness camp was organised by the Handicrafts Department in which around 100 artisans participated.SDM Kalakote Khalid Hussain, who was the chief guest on the occasion, highlighted the role of Handicrafts Department in imparting training to the people of rural areas aimed at generating self-employment. He also urged the artisans to avail the benefits of schemes run by the department.Assistant Director Handicrafts, Akhil Sadhotra informed the trainees and artisans about handicraft centres and various schemes which they can avail after undergoing training in these centres.Deputy Registrar INDUSCOS apprised the trainees of the cooperative societies, benefits which artisans can avail on joining societies and also about registration process of cooperative societies.Representatives of banks also informed the trainees about documentation process while availing loans.Welcome address and vote of thanks was presented by Fazal Khan, Handicraft Training Officer.Deputy Registrar Industrial Cooperative Societies, Sarwar Hussain Shah, besides representatives of J&K Bank and JK Grameen Bank were also present on the occasion.
