While addressing a public meeting at Gandhi Chowk in Hamirpur today, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, who shared the Dias with former Chief Minister Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, lauded the efforts of latter for undertaking massive development of the State, for which Prof. Dhumal was known as ‘Sadak Wala Mukhyamantri. He said that Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal had worked for strengthening the party and the Government needs his guidance in future as well, though it was unfortunate that Prof. Dhumal was not with us in assembly but he is and will remain a source of inspiration in times ahead and we need his blessings.He said that the suggestion of Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal would play an important role in smooth functioning of the Government. He said that the Congress leaders should focus on settling differences in their own family and should not seek ‘Hisaab’ from us, as people had given absolute mandate to the BJP, adding that the people have shown them their ground. The Chief Minister said that all the politically motivated cases registered in courts by the Congress against senior BJP leaders would be taken back. He said that the way the BJP was getting strengthened in the Centre under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, we affirm that all the four seats of Member of Parliament would be won by the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections.He said that seven divisions of PWD were opened by Congress for which Finance department had not given its concurrence. 

Do the colleges run with an amount of one lakh rupees, he asked, adding that new colleges were announced by Congress with meagre amount of Rs. 1 lakh making fun of education system. The Chief Minister said that there were few of 80 years of age and taking this into consideration the government took a decision to lower the age of social security pension to 70 years for which many senior citizens thanked the Government. Similarly, a decision was taken to form a Cabinet Sub-Committee for devising a plan for looking after and taking care of stray animals and will identify few places in every district for setting up Gau Sadans. He said that certainly we were committed to deal with monkey menace and were working in this direction as well.He also referred to Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN), a regional connectivity Scheme. He said that the consultancy for preparing Detailed Project Reports for all 69 National Highways would be completed by March end, adding that the previous Congress Government during its regime started consultancy on seven national highways and that too incomplete fearing that the credit will go to the NDA Government.The Chief Minister said that all the demands raised and supported by one and all would be fulfilled. He said that the posts of specialists in regional  would be filled in near future and the government will initiate the process in this direction as soon as possible. He said that sincere efforts would be made to make arrangements for starting classes in medical college from this session. He assured to provide all possible assistance for completion of parking near DC office Hamirpur. 

The Chief Minister directed for early completion of Bus stand and said that adequate fund arrangements would be made for the same.He also assured shifting of office of HP Power Corporation Limited after taking up the matter at appropriate level. He said that the government after assessing the ground realities will consider to open a college for girls at Hamirpur. He directed for refurbishing of roads in Hamirpur constituency on priority. He also directed the IPH officials to formulate a plan for water supply schemes for meeting drought like situation and directed the district administration to be ready for supplying drinking water to people if drought like situation comes.Former Chief Minister Prof.  Prem Kumar Dhumal while addressing on the occasion said that regional hospital Hamirpur sans medical specialists and it should be accorded top priority.  He said that the forest clearance formalities for medical college at Hamirpur were almost complete and urged the Chief Minister for announcing starting of classes from this academic session in the regional hospital and also lay foundation stone of the Medical College building.He said that the office of HP Power Corporation Limited, which was shifted to Shimla may be shifted back to Hamirpur.Member Parliament Shri Anurag Thakur said that the Congress boasted of equal development of all regions of the State but the fact was that Hamirpur district was the most targeted in matter of development. The worse conditions of the roads were witness of the false claims of development being made by the Congress. He said that the health services paralysed in Hamirpur during the Congress regime. 

He welcomed the decision of the government of lowering the age for elderly for availing benefit of social security pension from 80 to 70 years, which would benefit larger section of aged. He said that the Congress leaders were master in mud-slinging, forgetting that the Lotus blooms more in mud.MLA Hamirpur Shri Narinder Thakur welcomed the Chief Minister, and others present on the occasion. He credited the development of Hamirpur to the BJP regime right from the time of late Shri Jagdev  Chand Thakur and later to the former Chief Minister Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal. He urged for improving and augmentation of water supply schemes in the district in wake of drought like situation. He also urged for posting specialists in Regional Hospital, Hamirpur. He also urged for completion of parking and making the Medical College functional soon at Hamirpur. MLAs Shri Narinder Thakur, Shri Vijay Agnihotri and Smt. Kamlesh Kumari, Ex-MLA Dr. Anil Dhiman, Shri Vijay Agnihotri,  Block President, BJP Shri Baldev Dhiman were also present on the occasion amongst others.
