National Lok Adalats were held today in both the wings of Jammu and Kashmir High Court during which cases of varied natures were settled and a compensation amount of over Rs 2 crore was also awarded.The Lok Adalats organized by J&K High Court Legal Services Committee was held under the patronage of Chief Justice, Jammu and Kashmir High Court, Justice Badar Durrez Ahmed and under the guidance of Chairman High Court Legal Services Committee, Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey.Three benches were constituted to hear the cases. During the Lok Adalats 28 MACT cases, each case of family matter and land acquisition besides 13 cases of bank recovery were settled amicably.Rs 2, 31, 79, 381 were also awarded as compensation amount during the Lok Adalats.
