District Development Commissioner Pulwama, Ghulam Mohammad Dar, today convened a meeting to review arrangements for the upcoming festival of Maha Shivratri.The meeting was attended by DPO ICDS, Dy , CMO, SE PDD and other concerned officials.Threadbare discussions were held on various issues which included security, uninterrupted power and water supply, medicare, sanitation for smooth celebrations of the festival in the district.On the occasion DDC directed the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs department to release 5 kg additional ration, 2kg sugar and 1 kg walnut free, to every family of Pandit community living in the District.He also directed Fisheries and agriculture department to ensure that mobile vans with fish for sale and vegetables especially Lotus Stems (Nadroo), walnut, Cheese and other essential commodities should be kept at the designated places for sale. Officials from Health department were directed for keeping well equipped ambulances at various places especially near the migrant community colonies. DDC directed the PHE, PDD, R&B and other concerned departments to ensure the provision of the uninterrupted power supply, potable drinking water and other facilities for the devotees.
