A team of officers from district administration and sub-divisional officers from Surankote led by District Development Commissioner, Tariq Ahmad Zargar conducted an extensive tour of one of the remote areas Hari Marhot to Rajaa and listen to the issues of people and assess the developmental requirements of the area including basic amenities.The team of officers comprising of ACD Poonch Executive Engineers of PWD, PHE & PMGSY, SDM Surankote, Tehsildar Surankote and several others officers and front line field functionaries inspected ongoing developmental works taken up under various projects of state and centre.DDC listened to people's issues during a grievance redressal camp held at Rajada. The people from villages Rajada, upper Marhote and other remote habitations projected their demands for improvement and upgradation of road from upper Marhote to Rajada and demanded early starting of black topping and construction of allied works including construction small bridges and culverts on the road.
The people apprised the DDC about various problems faced by them including shortage of drinking water, poor condition of power infrastructure, health facilities etc.Responding to issues raised, the DDC directed the concerned XEN, AEE and SDM Surankote to look into the issues and resolved them on priority basis. He further directed the sub divisional administration to remain in contact with the people and pay regular visits in all remote areas to build public confidence by providing prompt basic facilities. He also asked the concerned to create mass awareness about state and centre government schemes.Meanwhile, the DDC directed the executive engineers to prepare DPR for starting of allied works the most highlighted problem of the area which was raised by the people for improvement and upgradation of upper Hadi Marhot to Rajada road. He also assured the people that steps will be taken to tap tourism potential of the area and adjacent areas. He assured public that their genuine demands would be met soon.
