Sh. Abdul Latief U Zaman Deva, Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission, called on Governor N. N. Vohra at Raj Bhavan here today.Sh. Deva briefed Governor about the continuing improvements being made by the Commission by progressively enhancing the use of technology in the conduct of exams and interviews and bringing all processes online to ensure greater transparency and efficiency. He also brought out some of the difficulties, legal and others, which had impeded the pace of the Commission’s work.Governor emphasized the crucial importance of the Commission maintaining unimpeachable standards in the selection of candidates as even a slight compromise would lead to the functioning of public offices, departments and agencies being marred by the inadequate performance of functionaries who were not selected on merit.
