Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Choudhary today kick started construction of Flood Protection bandhs at various spots on left and right side of Aik Nallah between Khairi  to Sai  villages of Bishnah and Suchetgarh .Addressing the gathering, Sham Choudhary said with the implementation of this project the  problem being faced by the people living near Aik Nallah will be resolved to a great extent and at the same time the local inhabitants will feel secure . He said that the erection of concrete bandhs along the nallah would also help in saving the agriculture land from flash floods. The government has also envisaged a project of Rs. 24.95 crore under Flood Management Programme (FMP) to address the problem of soil erosion of cultivated land along Aik Nallah.Reiterating the commitment of Government for the development of rural, backward and border areas of the State, the Minister said that work on various developmental projects is going on in Bishnah Constituency. He said that more projects of public importance would also be taken up in near future for the welfare of people of the area.Enroute, various deputations and individuals met the Minister and projected their demands which include installation of Tube wells   for irrigation purpose and construction of roads. The Minister assured them that their genuine demands would be addressed on priority.Chief Engineer I& FC Jammu, K K Magotra, SE Hydraulic Circle Jammu, besides sectoral officers and senior engineers of PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control departments accompanied the Minister.
