Bharatiya Janata Party State Secretary Er . Gulam Ali accused the Congress and Kashmir based political parties of ignoring and discriminating Dogra Muslims in every sphere of life after independence.Er. Ghulam Ali was addressing a large gathering at Chak Manga Gujran in Samba. He had direct interaction with the nomadi and semi-nomadic Muslims residing in smaller gropus in different bastis of the saide area, which falls in plain belt of Jammu region.Almost every one had a common complaint that they were living here for the last four decades and now their population is in thousands. A large number of people from their areas have even shifted to Punjab due to indifferent attitude towards the community. They told that their names have not even been enrolled in voter lists deliberately.
They further narrated that they have approached the concerned Deputy Commissioners again and again during all these years but all in vain, no one listens us, no one care, we keep running from one table to another, one room to another in government offices.”We often have to listen that there are clear cut instructions from high ups”Er. He told them that in recently held elections in MP, Chattisgarh, Rajasthan And Delhi, Muslims in these states overwhelmingly supported BJP and in Rajisthan many Muslim candidates on BJP mandate won the elections, where Congress even failed to open its account. He urged upon the Election Commission of India for immediate intervention and direct the concerned District Commissioners for special drive to enroll Dogra nomadic Muslims in voter lists as they too are Indian citizens and have every right to avail the right to vote like other citizens as it is their fundamental right, he added.Ch.
