Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs met Governor N. N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan.Minister briefed Governor about the ongoing schemes and the continuing steps being taken by his Department for ensuring timely, adequate and equitable distribution of rations, particularly in the far off areas of the State.Governor appreciated the Minister’s endeavours to provide timely rations to over 74 lakh BPL beneficiaries in the State and urged him to have sustained publicity made to inform the people fully about their entitlements, arrangements made for supplying rations and the grievance redressal system which they may use to lodge their complaints about inadequate, poor quality or delay in supply of rations.Governor discussed with the Minister the Draft Tribal Policy under the State Government’s consideration and advised against this matter being delayed.
