Dir Agriculture flags off farmers for Inter-State training

A group of 40 farmers from different districts of Jammu Division was flagged off by Director Agriculture Jammu H. K. Razdan for Inter State training programme outside the state from the Directorate of Agriculture, Krishi Bhawan, Jammu.The training programme is being conducted by Farmers Training Centre of the Department under Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA).Director Agriculture Jammu while interacting with the farmers on the occasion said that the Tour was being organized under ATMA with a specific objective of acquainting the farmers with modern techniques for Commercial Agriculture, emerging trends in organic farming, processing, marketing and seed production aspects of different crops. He impressed upon the farmers to interact with the farm scientists, extension functionaries and research workers to get up to date methodology in cultivation of crops on scientific lines.It was informed that the farmers will be acquainted with the practical demonstration on advanced crop cultivation, low cost storage techniques, using spot market in commodity exchange and interaction with seed growers.Giving details of the seven day tour programme Deputy Director Agriculture (Trainings) Sunil Koul said that the farmers will undergo the training at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dhanauri of G B Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Uttrakhand.Later, a group of progressive farmers from Organic Cluster Village Garhi Sub Division Marh was also flagged off by Director Agriculture Jammu H K Razdan for a five day exposure visit outside the state.
