Kickstarting the process of finalising the Congress strategy for the Ludhiana MC elections, senior cabinet minister and party’s observer for the polls, Tripat Rajinder Singh Bajwa, has convened a preparatory meeting in Ludhiana tomorrow.Local Punjab Congress leaders and workers have been invited for the meeting, to be held in the Ludhiana Circuit House and aimed at ensuring that the party’s winning spree in the state continues.Besides discussing the poll strategy, the party will take stock of the issues facing the people of Ludhiana, a Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) spokesperson said here on Tuesday. The views of the local party leaders and workers will be taken before finalising the manifesto for the elections, he added.Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has directed Bajwa to initiate an open discussion among the party workers as they are best placed to provide an insight into the Ludhiana problems and issues. PPCC president Sunil Jakhar has also made it clear that the views of the party workers, down the rank and file, should be taken into account before finalising the poll agenda.
