District Development Commissioner Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary conducted an extensive tour of Kalakote, Brevi and Nowshera to take stock of public issues besides reviewing development works in these areas.SDM Kalakote Khalid Hussain, SDM Nowshera Abdul Sattar, CMO Dr Suresh Gupta, EXN PWD Parvez Ahmed, EXN PHE A K Atri and other officers accompanied the DDC.The DDC reviewed the status of retrieval of state land, completion of hostel building, construction of Degree College building, establishment of park and other issues at Kalakote.At Brevi, several issues like upgradation of road infrastructure, adequate water and power supply, better healthcare besides other development matters were discussed in detail.
At Nowshera, status of basic amenities in the relief camps, construction of bunkers and other issues were discussed.SDM Nowshera briefed about construction of bunkers and requirement of ration for border dwellers who did not migrate besides plan for construction of community bunkers in premises of schools and hospitals.It was decided that schools in Bhawani, Khamba, Sarya and Kalal villages will remain closed for two more days in view of prevailing situation along LoC, and further decision will be taken in consultation with army.
