Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari today informed the House that a proposal for grant of Rs 1 lakh from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for payment to the NoKs of Kuldeep Singh S/o Sazzar R/O Tehsil Paddar who died while crossing Sazar Nallah in Kishtwar is under examination.He said this while replying, on behalf of the Minister Inchrage Home, to a Calling Attention Notice moved by the MLC, Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo in the House regarding death of a person on 14.10.2017 due to landslide at Paddar Kishtwar.The Minister informed the House that the concerned SHO has been directed to collect the post-mortem report of the deceased within 07 days and finalize inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPC. He said as per the report of SSP Kishtwar, the Police Station Atholi received information that the dead body of one Kuldeep Singh S/o Sazzar of Tehsil Paddar is lying in Sazar Nallah.
Accordingly, on receipt of this information, SHO police station Atholi along with Police party rushed to the spot and shifted the dead body to PHC Atholi for post-mortem proceedings.“After conducting the legal formalities, the dead body was handed over to the legal heirs for the last rites. In this connection, inquest proceeding under section 174 CrPC was initiated vide DDR No: 04 dated 14-10-2017 and enquiry was taken up by SHO P/S Atholi,” he added.The Minister said the statements of witnesses have been recorded under section 174 CrPC and during enquiry, it has emerged that the said deceased while crossing Sazar Nallah had slipped down and died on spot.The post-mortem report is yet to be received. On receipt of the post-mortem report, the inquest proceedings u/s 174 CrPC would be concluded, he noted.
