Minister for Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction and Floriculture Javaid Mustafa Mir on Saturday  visited  Tulip Garden and Plant Introduction Section to inspect the facilities available in the garden. He was accompanied by  Director Floriculture Kashmir  Mathora Masoom,  Sheikh Shabir Floriculture Officer and  Altaf Ahmad Assistant Floriculture Officer of Nehru Memorial Botanical Garden.The Minister issued on spot directions to increase drinking water point facilities in the Tulip Garden.On the occassion, officials informed the Minister that 1.25 million Tulip bulbs have been sown this year besides, extension of Tulip Garden has been undertaken by way of growing other plants like Hyacinths, Daffodils, Narcissus and other ornamental plants.The Minister was also informed that plant introduction section shall put on sale about one lac ornamental, bulbous and pot plants in the month of March. The Minister stressed upon officers the need of developing nurseries on the pattern of Plant Introduction Section in every district of the Valley.
