The Punjab Government takes another lead in taking forward the digital payment mission. The Punjab Government has launched the e-payment of water supply bills project. The Punjab Water Supply & Sanitation Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa inaugurated this project here today at the head office of the water supply & sanitation department. Addressing the gathering on the occasion the Water Supply & Sanitation Minister said that the Punjab Government in the leadership of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh is committed to provide best quality service to the people with minimum expenditure. Briefing about the project he said that in the first phase of the online payment of water supply bills project is launched in Mohali city. The consumers could pay their bills online by clicking the online department website link http://pbdwss.gov.in and using net banking/Debit Card/Credit Card/NEFT/RTGS. He said that this project has been introduced with the help Axis bank.The minister further said that the consumers would be informed about the water supply & sewerage bill amount and last date of payment through SMS. After the successful operation in Mohali, this project would soon be launched in other four cities Faridkot, Mukatsar, Fatehgarh Sahib and Sri Anandpur Sahib and further extended to rural areas. 

Mr. Tript Bajwa also introduced one time settlement scheme to regularize water supply connections. He said that the consumers can settle their arrears of water supply bills by paying actual user charges subject to maximum of Rs 2000. He also said that under this scheme all penalty and late payment charges are waived off and the consumers shall pay actual charges only. The minister also introduced another scheme under this project to regularize illegal water connections by paying one time regularization fee Rs 1000 only. 'The benefit of these schemes could be availed till February 28, 2018,' added Tript Bajwa.The Minister further appealed to the public and retired officers of the various departments that they should come forward with suggestions to provide better services to the people with maximum governance and minimum government.Other prominent present on the occasion included Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu MLA, Mrs Jaspreet Talwar Secretary Water Supply & Sanitation, Mr. Ashwani Kumar Director Water Supply & Sanition, Mrs. Gurpreet Kaur Sapra Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Gurdaarshan Singh Bahia OSD Minister, Mrs. Meenakshi Sharma Director Water Supply, Mr. Mohammad Ishfaq Director Sanitation, Mr. SK Jain Chief Engineer, Mr. Gurpreet Singh Chief Engineer and Chief Engineer Mr. Avtar Singh.
