Minister for Forests, Choudhary Lal Singh today informed the House that due to increasing demand of timber for construction of houses and making of furniture in Gulabgarh constituency, a total of 2484.66 cfts of timber was made available at Sungri and Mahore depots since 2016 upto December 2017, besides, 1580.11 cfts timber was sold to 72 beneficiaries during the period.Replying to a question by legislator Mumtaz Ahmad Khan, the Minister said that timber/firewood is being supplied as per the demand and dumping shall be regulated accordingly.While replying to the supplementary question raised by legislator Aijaz Khan seeking adequate supply of timber/firewood in his constituency, the Minister assured him that the government would look into the matter on priority.
