DCC Ganderbal approves 654 crore Annual Credit Plan

District Development Commissioner, Ganderbal, Dr. Piyush Singla, today chaired a meeting of District Consultative Committee (DCC) to review the performance of banks in respect of achievements under Annual Credit Plan 2018-19.District Consultative Committee (DCC) Ganderbal today approved the Credit Plan for FY 2018-19 allocating annual targets for credit by Banks/ Financial Institutions to various sectors and activities in the District to the tune of Rs. 645 Crore covering 24511 units.The meeting was attended by Mr. Karanjeet Singh, Zonal Head, J&K Bank, Mr. M. A. Bhat, Lead District Manager, Chief Planning Officer, District Coordinators of Banks, District Officers of Govt. / Line Departments/ Sponsoring Agencies, Block Development Officers and other members of the DCC.The credit plan allocates Rs. 471 Crore for Priority sector activities and Rs. 174 Crore to Non-priority sector. Credit allocation to agriculture and allied activities has been increased by 95% as compared to previous year to Rs. 265 Crore in favour of 11062 units with the objective of meeting the target of doubling of farmer income by 2022. Housing finance has been targeted at Rs. 30 Crore including Rs. 6 Crore under Prime Minster Awas Yojna Scheme in favour of 400 beneficiaries. Besides allocation to MSMs and Education sectors have been estimated at Rs. 148 Crore and Rs. 9 Crore respectively.DDC impressed upon the implementing departments/ agencies and Banks to make their best efforts for implementation of the Credit Plan at the ground level and ensure that the financial assistance reaches the rightful beneficiaries so as to ensure employment generation, poverty alleviation and socio-economic development of the community in general and socially and economically backward sections in particular as enshrined in the Government policies and programmes.
