Announces developmental projects worth crores of Rupees for Seraj area

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur blamed the previous Congress Government for befooling the people of the area in name of college. He was addressing a public meeting at Thachi in Seraj assembly segment of Mandi district today. Though the previous government had declared a College for Thachi, but the budgetary allocation was not made at all. A mere Rs. 1 lakh was announced for the college but when inquired from the Finance department, there was no such financial concurrence for the same.  This was done to befool people of the area he said, adding that in the coming budget adequate funds would be allocated for completion of college building at Thachi.Chief Minister said that the Congress nearing elections laid foundation stone and announced many development projects without budgetary provisions. “My government has decided to review all the announcements made by the previous government during last six months”, he added. 

Though the Government would not work with a biased attitude but would certainly review the decisions of previous Government that whether the  projects announced or posts created were having any budgetary provisions or not and act accordingly, he said. He announced additional sum of Rs. 70 lakh for retaining wall and building of GSSS, Thachi.Chief Minister said that there was a time when BJP was nowhere to be seen in Seraj, but since last 20 years the people believed and voted for development. We have to go united for making Seraj the Switzerland of Himachal.He announced a sum of Rs. 41 crore for Drinking Water Supply Scheme to left-out habitations of Seraj constituency from Tirthan Khud benefitting panchayats of Devdhaar, Bali-Chowki, Kau, Mani, Murah and Panjain. He said that Detailed Project report of Water Supply Schemes for above Panchayats were being prepared for funding under National Development Bank.He announced a sum of Rs. 1.08 crore for re-Modelling of  LWSS Kau-Devdhar Water Supply Scheme and Dhadwaas-Thachi water drinking water supply scheme by June, 2018. He further directed for early completion of Rs. 96 lakh Seri-Baggi- Bhanwaas and Rs 3.98 crore LWSS Dadhwaas Water Supply Scheme by December and May 2018, respectively.Chief Minister also directed for early completion of Rs 64 lakhs Shalwaad-Chalot Water Supply Scheme by December. He said that proposal had been sent to NABARD for providing LWSS to Gram Panchayat Kuklah from Khudaagi Khud to cost Rs. 5.46 crore. Irrigation and Public Health Minister Shri Mahinder Singh Thakur said that the water supply schemes under process would be completed at the earliest. He said that the Government will look into the proposal of setting up anti-hail guns for protecting the crops. The Anti hail guns would be installed as per directions of the Chief Minister, he added.MLA Shri Jawahar Thakur also spoke on the occasion.MLA Shri Banjar Surinder Shouri was also present amongst representatives from Panchayats, Mahila Mandals, Yuvak Mandals and others on the occasion.
