Adopt natural farming for enhancing farm income : Acharya Devvrat

While addressing a mammoth gathering of farmers at Kendla in district Jind, Haryana, Governor Acharya Devvrat said that scientists were now recommending natural farming after thorough research in this direction.He said that the farmers had used chemical fertilizers in abundance in the name of Green Revolution to increase their production. He added that excessive use of chemicals continuously decreased the fertility of the soil and said that we would only give barren land to our future generation, which was a matter of concern. Chemical farming was not going to benefit the farmers in any way, he said.Acharya Devvrat said that similarly, even organic farming was not proved beneficial for the farmers as it was costly and farmers have to use cow dung and other products besides earthworm manure etc. The production under this system was lesser during the first three years and the loss was not bearable for the poor farmers, he added. He said that now a days big factories have been set up in the name of organic products and costly farming products were being produced and the farmers took loan in every crop. The Governor said that zero budget natural farming was the only solution to safe the farmers and double their income. Under this system, the farmers not have to spend even a single penny , but get more benefits such as rejuvenate the barren land, minimum use of water, safe production for health, safe the environment etc. 

He urged the farmers to rear Indian breed cow to adopt natural farming.Agriculture Minister Shri O.P. Dhankhar welcomed the Governor on the occasion and urged the farmers to rear Indian breed of cow and work to improve the breed of cattle. He said that number of schemes have been started by the  Haryana Government for the welfare of farmers and steps had been taken in strengthening farm sector in the state.Shri Tek Ram Kandela, Pradhan, Sarv Khap Panchayat welcomed and honoured the Governor.Earlier, the Governor inaugurated Mittal Eye Hospital,  equipped with Star S4 IR Excited Laser System at Narwana in Jind district of Haryana. On the occasion, he appreciated the commitment of Dr. Deepak Mittal to set up ultra modern eye hospital in rural area and hoped that people of the area would be benefitted from specialized medical services at their door step. Shri Jasvir Deswal, MLA, Saffido welcomed the Governor on the occasion. Shri Ram Pal Arya, President Arya Pratinidhi Sabha, Haryana also welcomed the Governor.Later, the Governor also visited 'Lakshey' milk plant at Kandela in district Jind.Governor also inaugurated Kandela Agriculture Farm and Horticulture Centre on the occasion.
