Raksha Rajya Mantri Dr. Subhash Bhamre visited NCC Republic Day Camp-2018 at the Cariappa Parade Ground, Delhi Cantt. today. On arrival he was received by Director General National Cadet Corps (DGNCC) Lieutenant General BS Sahrawat.The Republic Day Camp is being attended by 2070 cadets including 695 girl cadets specially selected from 29 States and 07 Union Territories and foreign cadets from ten friendly foreign countries under the NCC Youth Exchange Programme.A contingent of all the three wings namely Army, Navy and Air Force presented an impressive “Guard of Honour” to the Raksha Rajya Mantri on his arrival. NCC cadets thereafter presented a fine band display. The RRM also visited the ‘Flag Area’ prepared by the NCC cadets depicting various social awareness themes and cultural activities. The cadets briefed him in detail about their respective State Directorate themes, all aimed at national integration and development.The versatile NCC cadets then presented a spectacular cultural programme in the NCC auditorium comprising group dances and ballet, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of our nation.In his address, Dr. Bhamre complimented the cadets for their smart drill and confidence. He also appreciated the commitment of NCC to ‘Groom Future Leaders’. Highlighting the immense contributions of NCC, he said that it was at the forefront of organisations engaged in youth empowerment, promoting a unique mix of scholastic education and multifaceted activities enabling all round development of its cadets.
