DDC asks to check use of polythene bags

District Development Commissioner, Ravinder Kumar convened a meeting with district officers and representatives of Beopar Mandal including various trade unions of the district here today.During the meeting, various issues were discussed related to regulating the street vendors, removal of dumping site from Gole market and shifting to other suitable place, complete ban on polythene bags as per the direction of J&K High Court, organizing awareness programmes regarding ban on polythene bags, setting up street vendors zone in the district besides eradicating illegal encroachment from different locations of the district.

While speaking on the occasion, DDC said that the district administration will take effective measures to check  the use of polythene in the district.He asked the representatives of Beopar Mandal and other trade unions to actively participate in the drive against the use of polythene bags.DDC also directed CEO Municipality to immediately shift the dumping site from Gole Market to some other place.Earlier, representatives of Beopar Mandal thanked the district administration for widening of MH Chowk besides installing Mast light for the convenience of general masses.Among others Senior Superintendent of Police, Rayees Bhat, CEO Municipality, Santosh Kotwal, district officers, representatives of Beopar Mandal besides various other trade union members were present on the occasion.
