A mega road show was organised at Thunag as Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur was driven in an open jeep through the bazar with thousands of his well wishers and admirers raising slogans ‘Aan Hamari, Shaan Hamari, Jai Ram Thakur Jaan Hamari’ (Jai Ram Thakur is our glory, our hero). He was accompanied by Irrigation and Public Health Minister Mahinder Singh Thakur and family members. The Thunag bazar echoed with sound of crackers with people and children dancing despite chill.Addressing a huge public meeting at Thunag, the Chief Minister said that a new responsibility has been given to him by the people of the state and he ensures to carry his duties with diligence and sincerity. “I am obliged for the warm welcome accorded to me in my constituency”, he said adding that this was just his courtesy visit for his constituents and to thank them for their support and affection.We gave a slogan much earlier, ‘Shikhar ki Aur Seraj’ and today Seraj was on the top and that was due to the people of this region. He announced an IPH division at Thunag.
“I have been through very tough time and by Gods grace the people of Seraj today gave me much bigger responsibility of the Chief Minister”, he said. I am grateful to the people who stood by me like a pillar from my last five terms as MLA from the area, he said. There were rumours that there was a tough competition in Seraj and the congress candidate was going strong, but I am thankful to the people who ensured my victory by a huge margin of around 11,500 votes, he said. Besides, I am also indebted to the people of Mandi district who ensured clean sweep of BJP wiping the congress completely out of the district, he added. I am also indebted to the party high command and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, National BJP President, Amit Shah and other leaders who gave me this responsibility and a reason to serve the people of the State equally, stated the Chief Minister. Later, he addressed people at Janjehali.IPH Minister Mahinder Singh Thakur congratulated and thanked the people for giving huge mandate to Jai Ram Thakur. He said that the working of the government led by Jai Ram Thakur would be entirely different from all the previous Chief Ministers. He exhorted the people to go with the Chief Minister till next 25 years and together ensure that the BJP continues to rule till next 25 years for a stable, transparent and a strong government for the welfare of the people.The officials of Seraj assembly segment, teachers associations including PTA, PAT and SMC, Yuvak Mandals, Mahila Mandals various employees associations also welcomed the Chief Minister besides the party workers. Shikari Mata Temple Committee presented a cheque of Rs. 50 thousand to the Chief Ministers towards CM relief fund. Similarly Seraj valley truck operator’s cooperative society presented a cheque of Rs11 thousand and Rs. one lakh through from Temple Committee, revenue department and Red Cross Society, Janjehali for fire victims of Dahar village of Bali Chowki Tehsil. Seraj BJP President Sher Singh Thakur also welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion.MLAs Vinod Kumar, Hira Lal and Jawahar Lal Thakur were also present on the occasion amongst Panchayat representatives of the region.
