Congress government pushed the state to financial debt of 46,500 crores-Jai Ram Thakur

Addressing his first massive public gathering in Municipal Ground at Bilaspur today, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur blamed previous Congress government for pushing the state to financial debt of around 46,500 crore. He said that it was shameful that the party which ruled for decades in Himachal had done very little in the name of development except borrowings loans and creating financial mismanagement. He said  government would spend every single pie received from the centre government for development of the state and welfare of the people.The Chief Minister said that he met Union Finance Minister and the Prime Minister, who assured to provide all possible assistance to overcome the debt and to provide bailout package from the centre. Officers have been asked to prepare proposals to overcome the debt, he said adding that the major challenge before him was to steer out the government from financial crisis. He said few independents wished to join the party also but it was due to the people of Himachal Pradesh who gave a complete mandate to BJP that the party was in absolute majority. 

He also thanked Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the senior Central leadership of BJP at National and State level who contributed and worked together to ensure a massive victory for the BJP. He also praised  efforts of former Chief Ministers of the state Sh. Shanta Kumar and Shri Prem Kumar Dhumal for victory of BJP. The Chief Minister said that he has worked in party cadre at various posts from bottom to top. Today I am a satisfied to see ‘Congress Mukt’ Himachal and it was the Mandi District,  where 9 out of 10 seats were won by BJP and one by an Independent, he said. Sh Jai Ram Thakur said that the government would not follow the revengeful attitude as was the tradition of the previous government. He thanked the people who gathered in numbers to convey their warm blessings. Shri J.R. Katwal, MLA Jhanduta urged for an early solution  of Bhakra Dam Oustees. MLA Ghumarwin Shri Rajinder Garg, MLA Bilaspur, Shri Shubhash Thakur also welcomed the Chief Minister  and addressed the gathering thanking the people for bestowing faith in new leadership of BJP.Irrigation and Public Health Minister Shri Mahender Singh Thakur, MLA Doon Shri Paramjit Singh Pammi, former MLAs Shri Randhir Sharma,  Shri Rikhi Ram Kaundal, District BJP President Shri Rakesh Gautam, Political Advisor to Chief Minister Shri Trilok Jamwal,  OSD to Chief Minister Shri Mahender Dharmani and senior BJP leaders were also present on the occasion amongst others.
