District Development Commissioner, Sheetal Nanda reviewed the progress and performance of banks in key areas relating to Deposits, Advances and Priority sector lending for the quarter ending September 2017 in the District Level Review and Consultative Committee meeting held, here today.On the occasion, DDC unveiled PLP (Potential Linked Plan) 2018-19 prepared by NABARD for District Samba.Speaking on the occasion, DDC asked banks to focus on Education and Housing loans due to their low disbursements and emphasized on diversifying loan assistance to small borrowers instead of focus on one big account. She further said that awareness programmes regarding Educational Loan Schemes must be organized in educational institutions.While reviewing the progress achieved under Fasal Bima Yojana Scheme, she directed officials to utilize data of Kissan Credit Card holders for additional enrolment under the scheme.Earlier Lead Bank Manager, Satish Sharma apprised participants that CD ratio of district was 45.39 percent and priority sector advances are 60.90 percent to total credit in Samba. He informed that Aadhar seeding for operative bank accounts is 62.63 percent in the district.DDM NABARD, Surinder Singh advised banks to provide adequate, timely and hassle-free credit.LDO RBI Abhilasha Diwakar, CPO K K Khajuria and Heads of Banks and government departments were also present in the meeting.
