Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal today paid obeisance at Takth Sri Patna Sahib and prayed for the welfare of Punjab and humanity on the occasion of 351st Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji.The SAD president, who was accompanied by his family members, including Union food processing minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal, also interacted with the Sikh sangat and listened to "kirtan" on the occasion.Later the SAD president, accompanied with Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Gobind Singh Longowal and senior leaders Manjit Singh GK and Manjinder Singh Sirsa also called on Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar at his residence. Mr Badal thanked the chief minister as well as the Bihar government for celebrating the birth anniversary year of the great Guru at such a grand scale on behalf of the SAD as well as the Sikh community. He said the Bihar chief minister had performed a great "sewa" through this act and that the Sikh community would always be beholden to him for this service. Mr Badal also invited the Bihar CM to Punjab to receive an honour on behalf of the Sikh community besides honouring him with a "siropa" on the occasion.Mr Nitish Kumar while accepting the invitation in his humble way said whatever he had done was his duty. "I have not done anything. It is the Guru who has taken this sewa from me", he added.
