Minister for Rural Development Panchayati Raj Law and Law & Justice Abdul Haq Khan today said the government is working simultaneously on development and political fronts to address the problems of Jammu and Kashmir.Speaking during a public interaction at Kupwara, the Minister said that peace is imperative for development and the state and the central government are working in tandem to resolve all pending issues and bring sustainable peace and prosperity to the state. Abdul Haq said the present dispensation headed by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, has been taking all steps needed to carry forward the philosophy of healing touch as introduced by late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to ensure peace, prosperity  and sustainable development in the state with dignity of the common masses intact.He said the revival of the internal dialogue mechanism and the subsequent announcement of amnesty to the first time offenders involved in street protests reflects the government’s commitment to move on the path of reconciliation, peace and resolution. “It is a part of the continued effort for rehabilitation of the victims of violence. These initiatives would go a long way in changing the narrative towards reconciliation and resolution with the full support from the Central Government,” he said adding that the government has a consistent policy towards the peace and reconciliation and protection of human rights in the State.

He said the Government is fully committed to provide all basic facilities to people of the state especially in rural areas and development works are  Earlier the Minister dedicated to the public the additional renovated building of Govt BHS Takipora.   The function was attended by the ADC Kupwara, Yar Ali Khan, Chief Education Officer M S War other dignitaries from different departments with huge participation of locals.The Minister also released annual school magazine Lol-a-Agur of BHS Takipora.Responding to the demands raised by local population, minister said the road network in Lolab constituency from Khumriyal to Rang is in widening process and Rs 36 crore have been approved under CRF and more areas would be connected in coming years. He said drinking water facilities would also be provided to all areas of the constituency through different schemes.The Minister impressed upon the educated unemployed youth to get trained in different skills so that they would be able to earn their livelihood. He said government has accommodated the Self Help Groups under Umeed scheme for skill development and placements within the state and Rs 1600 crore have been earmarked under the scheme.Referring the augmentation of power infra the Minister assured the public of Lolab that 3 Receiving Stations are under upgradation process while the sub stations LT HT lines and transformers are being provided to the area within the current month while the under construction Water Reservoir Tanks would be utilized for drinking water purposes in the Lolab area. He sought full co operation from the public for fulfillment of their genuine demands.
