Minister of State for H&UD, Health, Medical Education and Social Welfare, Asiea Naqash today to reviewed the functioning of various schemes of Social Welfare Department (SWD) and ICDS here at an officers meeting.Commissioner- Secretary, Social Welfare, Sajad Ahmed Khan, Directors of Social Welfare Department Jammu, Kashmir, Mission Director, ICDS, Director Finance SWD, Joint Director Planning, SWD and other Senior Officers of Social Welfare Department attended the meeting.The Minister took thorough review of the implementation process of range of social security schemes like Marriage Assistance, Old Aged Pension, Scholarship disbursement, AASRA Insurance and Laadli Beti, NSAP, ISSS, Construction of old Age Home, SC and OBC Sector.The Minister directed the concerned to work with utmost dedication and conduct field survey to monitor the implementation and ground impact of these welfare schemes. She asked the department to prepare a list of beneficiaries and submit the same to the concerned so that grant may be sanctioned in time. She also asked the Directors of SWD to hold meetings with the Central Government Officers and pursue the cases submitted by the Department from time to time for granting of scholarship and other related benefits.The Minister asked the concerned to identify the land at Srinagar and Jammu for construction of Old Age Home and submit the report to the concerned quarters at the earliest. She also asked them to take up the matter with the concerned District Development Commissioners in this regard.Taking stock of flagship programmes, the Minister asked the SWD to aware general masses about the schemes so that the maximum lot gets the benefit. She said wide publicity and mass at grassroots level is must for enhancing the outreach of the Centre and State Government schemes.Detailed discussions were held on working of Anaganwari Centres in the State.
