Days after Jammu Kashmir High Court quashed the detention of Muslim League leader Mushtaq-ul-Islam under Public Safety Act, his family Thursday said they are unaware about his whereabouts and are visiting every jail looking for him.Mushtaq-ul-Islam according to his family was arrested by Batamaloo Police some seven months back from the residence of his sister at Tengpora Bypass. “He was arrested for indulging in anti-India activities, though the court had already acquitted him for the charges framed by police. Court had acquitted him against the FIR’s registered against him at Police Stations Batamaloo, Shaheedgung and Kothibagh in 2013 and 2014,” said a family member to news agency CNS. A Muslim League spokesperson added that the Court of Justice Tashi Rabstan quashed his detention under PSA on December 13 and directed Government to release him. “We produced the court order before the Kot Bhalwal Jail authorities. Instead of releasing him, Jail authorities shifted Mushtaq-ul-Islam to an unknown destination. Neither family nor the organization knows about his whereabouts. We are very concerned,” he said. (CNS)
