Deputy Commissioner reviews progress of land acquisition cases

In order to monitor the progress of land acquisition cases, Deputy Commissioner Kumar Rajeev Ranjan took a review meeting here today.Additional Deputy Commissioner (Adm) and concerned collectors attended the meeting.Reviewing progress on Ring Road, Deputy Commissioner was informed that possession of land has been handed over to the concerned in 35 villages out of 50 villages involved while the possession of remaining 15 villages will be handed over by 24th of November as per the schedule issued, and an amount of Rs 32,23,162/- has been disbursed to the land owners.Deputy Commissioner directed the Collectors concerned to hand over the acquired land to NHAI of remaining villages as per the schedule and disburse the payment of land Compensation among the land owners whose land is acquired for the Ring Road.The DC, while taking stock of PMGSY cases, was informed that NOCs in respect of all three cases has been issued and collectors were directed to expedite the process of acquisition.Regarding widening/four laning of Jammu Akhnoor Road, Deputy Commissioner was informed that notification under section 4-1 has been issued in 20 villages and 10 villages have been submitted for issuance of notification under Section 6, 7 and 17. In three villages no land needs to be acquired while in remaining 6 villages section 4-1 will be issued as soon as the demarcation of alignment by NHIDCL is completed, Deputy Commissioner directed the Collectors concerned to get the revenue paper of remaining 4 villages coming under the alignment of Jammu Akhnoor Road and issue notification under section 4-1 at the earliest. He further directed the collector to expedite the cases of acquisition and complete all the cases in a time bound manner.
