Prof. Ashok Aima, Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Jammu, called on Governor N.N Vohra, Chancellor of the University, at the Raj Bhavan here today.Prof. Aima informed the Chancellor that 15 Departments of the University have been shifted to its permanent campus at Bagla village, Raya Suchani and presently  the University is offering 35 academic programmes; till date 18 national and 4 international MoUs have been signed with different Universities and organizations, of which 13 have been operationalized; 77 % and 78 % teaching and non teaching positions, respectively, have been filled; and there are 46 ongoing research projects in the University.He further informed that University will be hosting Vice Chancellor’s Conference in February 2018; organizing the University’s first Convocation early next year and hosting Executive Programme for training IAS officers in collaboration with ASCI, Hyderabad, in January 2018.Governor emphasised the need to ensure the establishment of essential facilities in the University’s own Campus on the soonest possible basis, filling up faculty positions with the best qualified academics and making sustained endeavours for achieving very high standards in teaching, research and extra-curricular activities.
