The Congress party has emerged victorious in 20 out of 29 Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayats, the polls regarding which were conducted today.A spokesman while disclosing this said that out of total 414 wards Congress has won in 267, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) in 37, BJP in 15, AAP in 1 and independents in 94 wards.Divulging more, the spokesman said that in 13 wards of Rajasansi in Amritsar congress won 7, SAD 3, BJP 3. In 13 wards of Handiaya in Barnala congress won 7, SAD 3 and BJP 3. In 13 wards of Amloh in Fatehgarh Sahib congress won 9, SAD and BJP 2 each, in 13 wards of Bhogpur in Jalandhar independents won all 13, in 13 wards in Shahkot congress won 12 and independents won 1, in 13 wards of Goraya congress won 10, SAD and BJP 1 each while 1 ward was won by independents. In 13 wards of Bilga congress won 4, SAD 3 and independents 6. In 11 wards in Dhilwan in Kapurthala congress won 7, 4 were wrested by the independents.

In 13 wards of begowal congress won 4, SAD 8 and independents 1. In 13 wards of bhulath congress won 5, SAD 4, AAP 1, independents 3. In 15 wards in Machhiwara in Ludhiana district, congress won 12, SAD and BJP 1 each and independents won in 1 ward. In 13 wards in Mullanpur Dakha congress won all 13, In 11 wards in Maloud congress won 8, SAD and BJP 1 each and independents won in 1. In 15 wards in Sahnewal congress won 12, SAD 2 and BJP 1. In 13 wards in Dharamkot in Moga congress won 11, SAD and independents won 1 each. In Fatehgarh Panjtoor out of 11 wards congress won 10 while SAD won 1. In Bariwala in Muktsar the congress won 9 out of total 11 wards while SAD and independents won 1 each. In Ghagga in Patiala out of 13 wards congress won 8, SAD 1 and BJP and independents 2. In 11 wards in Ghanour congress won 10 and independents 1.  In Narot Jaimal Singh in Pathankot out of 11 wards all were won by the congress. In Dirba in Sangrur out of 13 wards congress won 11 while the independents won 2. In 13 wards in Cheema the congress won 1 while the independents won 12. In 13 wards in Khanouri congress won 6, SAD 1 and independents won 6. In 13 wards of Moonak the independents won in all wards. In 13 wards of Khemkaran in Tarntaran congress won 12 while independents won 1. In Bhikhi in Mansa out of 13 wards congress won 6 and independents won 7. In 15 wards of Balachaur in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar the independents won all wards. In Talwandi Sabo in Bathinda out of 15 wards congress won 13 while SAD and independents won 1 each. In Mahilpur in Hoshiarpur out of 13 wards congress won 8, SAD 3 and independents won 2 wards.
