The Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control,  Sham Lal Choudhary today inaugurated lanes and drains in village Mokhey of  Suchetgarh Constituency constructed at a cost of Rs 6 Lakh under Cluster Model Village.Speaking on the occasion, the Minister reiterated the commitment of government for the development of border villages of the area. He said that the government has launched cluster model village programme for which Rs 1.20 crore has been earmarked to create basic amenities in the border villages for the convenience of people. Responding to the demands of locals, the Minister assured that their genuine demands would be addressed on priority.Earlier, the Minister inaugurated medical camp at village Abdullian of Suchetgarh Constituency. The daylong camp was organised by the National Medicos Organization.During the camp over 150 patients were checked  and free  medicines were provided to them.Appreciating the efforts of the organizers for organizing the medical camp in this border village, the Minister said that the effort will benefit the locals, hoping that patients suffering from the serious ailments will also be the beneficiaries of the camp.  He said that such more medical camps would be organised in other villages of the area for the benefit of locals who cannot afford to move out to get treatments. 

The Government will provide all logistic support to supplement efforts in providing healthcare to people of border villages, he added.Sham Choudhary also planted saplings on the Occasion.General Physicians Dr.  Sumit Sabarwal, Dr. Deepak Kumar, Dr.  Rachna Sabarwal and Dr.  Sumit Gupta besides medical students including Vineet, Deepika, Gouri, Baljeet and Dipika examined the patients.Meanwhile, the Minister held a public meet at  R. S. Pura wherein scores of individuals and deputations from Dableher, Kutamjam, Badyal,  Gharani,  Roop Nagar,  Tapyal Badela, Bidhipur and adjoining villages participated. They projected individual and collective demands  which included blocktopping of link roads, construction of Dablehar-Kutamjam link road, lanes, drains, bridge, protection bands and replacement of old electric wires and sought Minister's intervention for their early redressal.Assuring for redressing their issues in phased manner, the Minister also asked the concerned for preparing DPRs of projects of public importance in consultation with the locals.Earlier,  a deputation of Jammu and Kashmir PHE Clerical Employees Association met the Minister and presented  a charter of demands which included reorganization of ministerial staff, creation of posts of section officers,  head assistants and other staff for newly created Divisions and Circles, conducting of DPC and removal of pay anomaly.
