Minister of State for Health, Social Welfare and Urban Development Asiea Naqash today conducted an extensive tour of Kupwara to get the firsthand account of overall arrangements put in place to meet out any kind of eventuality in wake of the weather situation during winter months.The Minister was briefed about with the latest on the availability of essential supplies in the health institutions in the district, in addition to the update on the implementation of CMs commitments made by her during her recent visit to the district.The MoS impressed upon the health authorities to ensure all health institutions are fully functional so that the patients can avail the maximum benefits from them. She was informed that 12 consultants are delivering their services in SDH Kupwara. The Minister directed Director Health Services Kashmir to provide accommodation to doctors and other paramedical staff within the hospital premises. She also instructed to create the cooking sheds outside the health institutions so that the staff and patients would not feel any inconvenience in the hospitals.The District Development Commissioner Kupwara Khalid Jahangir, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Planning Officer, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Development and other senior officers of district administration were present in the review meeting.The DDC projected some issues in respect of functioning of health institutions, to provide better health facilities to the needy patients at SDH Kupwara, Sogam, Trhgam, Kralpora and Langat.He informed that new constructed OPD –SDH building is nearing completion which is being constructed at a cost of Rs.24 crore.
