Army chief Bipin Rawat meets differently-abled children

Army chief General Bipin Rawat on Friday met differently-abled children from Asha school of Delhi Cantonment, and stressed that society should be more sensitive and accepting towards such children.A total of 108 students, 22 teachers and 19 non-teaching staff from the school visited the Army chief's residence, and interacted with him and Army Wives Welfare Association President Madhulika Rawat.Rawat complimented the Principal and the staff of the school for their dedication and said: "The society should be more sensitive and accepting towards the differently-abled children."A special Dog Show was organised for the children using trained military dogs and various games were also conducted.The Asha School at the Delhi Cantonment was established in 1991 to provide education, care and rehabilitation to the differently-abled children of defence personnel and civilians.The Indian Army runs 38 such welfare schools across the country. The Army also runs the Vishwas Employment Assistance Centre for skill training of the differently-abled.
