Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu, ArunManhas convened a meeting of District Advisory Committee (DAC) regarding implementation of the Jammu and Kashmir (Pre- conception and Pre-Natal Sex determination prohibition and Regulation Act-20020, here today.During the meeting, the DAC approved fresh registration/ renewal of registration of 10 different ultrasound centres under PC&PNDT Act that have been recommended by expert team members after due inspections.The DAC also recommended for resealing of all those diagnostic centres that are not complying with the act in the presence of authorities and cancel the registrations with due public notice to be issued for general awareness that may desist people from visiting these centres.During the meeting, ADC asked the committee to seek legal opinion regarding all those cases where recommendations for the same were given by National Inspection and Monitoring team (NIMC) during their visit in Jammu. He further asked the stakeholders to work in tandem so that the act is implemented in its true spirit.Among others, the meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer, Dr Sanjay Turki, District Health Officer, Dr Chaman Bhasin, Medical Superintendent, Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar, Dr A D S Manhas besides other concerned officers.
