Minister for Forests, Ecology and Environment, Choudhary Lal Singh asked the teaching fraternity to help students for imbibing high values as they are architects who have the responsibility of shaping personality of students adding that moral ethos are eroding with the influence of western culture and need of the hour is to preserve our age old traditions.The Minister was speaking at a 19th annual day function of KC Public School at Zorawar Singh Auditorium in Jammu University, today.Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Ravi Kesar, Director Social Forestry Ashwani Gupta, Chief Conservator of Forests Farooq Gillani, Regional Director Wildlife Sinthil Kumar, Ex-MLA and President National Hockey Kanta Andotra, Chairman of the School Raju Chowdhary, Principal Amarendra Mishra besides prominent citizens, parents, students, teaching and non-teaching staff members of school were also present on the occasion.Choudhary Lal Singh said that students are building blocks of strong foundation of the nation and so deserve to be nurtured with good care and concern. He appreciated the efforts of school administration and students for exhibiting their talent through cultural items.
The Minister asked the students to remain focused in their studies besides participating in extra-curricular activities for their overall development. He said that hard work will not only help them achieve better results and bright future but will enable them contribute towards progress and prosperity of the nation.Choudhary Lal Singh emphasized the need for making education a powerful tool of shaping individuals with knowledge, skills and attitudes required to cope with the demands of an ever-changing global world of today.Principal Amarendra Mishra delivered the welcome address and highlighted the achievements of the school.Earlier, the students presented a scintillating cultural programme comprising of action songs, group dances, Bhangra and Kashmiri dance which received thunderous applause from the audience.Choudhary Lal Singh also distributed mementos to the meritorious students who brought laurels to the school in academics, sports and extra-curricular activities in 2015-16.Later, at Dayalachak in Kathua district, the Minister also attended the annual day function of the Angles High School.MLA Hiranagar Kuldeep Raj, Principal of the school Sardari Lal, students, parents, teaching and non-teaching staff members, prominent citizens of the areas were present.
