Director Youth Services and Sports, Sheikh Fayaz Ahmad today convened a meeting to review the arrangements for the upcoming 63rd National School Games here.The Under-17 football tourney for Boys is being organized from December 11, 2017 to December 15, 2017 while as the national level event in Wushu for Boys in U-17 and U-19 categories shall take place from December 19, 2017 to December 23, 2017.The Meeting was attended by Joint Director YSS Jammu, Madan Lal,Joint Director YSS Kashmir, Basheer Ahmad, Deputy Director (C), Haji Mirza Hussain and other senior officers of the department.It was informed in the meeting that the department is ready with all the arrangements for the formal inauguration of the tournament, in which all the teams have been framed out and commencement of tournaments will be made as per the scheduled date and time.It was further informed that more than 30 teams hailing from different parts of the country are participating in the event and the arrangements for their accommodation, bus services and other related facilities has been done by the department. Also the department has setup a control room for better coordination and smooth progress of the tournament.On the occasion, the Director directed the concerned officers to ensure that every facility reaches each player and exhorted upon them to ensure better accommodation, bus arrangement, availability of venues etcetera to make it hassle-free football experience.Moreover, the Director commended the work of the officials for showing the utmost dedication towards their assigned roles in organizing such events.“In the recent, ‘Let’s Play’ tournament, the department made a big breakthrough in which more than 55,000 applicants registered themselves online and hoped that in the next session of national sports games, the registration process will be done online,” he added.
