Accusing the BJP of inciting riots to derive political benefits, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday urged the people not to fall into its "communal trap"."We keep track of all incidents. Do not fall into the communal trap laid by the BJP. They incite riots for political benefits," Banerjee said at a public meeting in Gosaba of South 24 Parganas district. The Chief Minister asked the people to remain alert and keep a track of strangers in their localities."Riots are a threat to the society. It is easy to cause trouble but difficult to douse them. Be alert and keep track of strangers in your areas."Flaying the Central government for "stopping" the pension of 2.5 lakh people, she said her government has allotted money to continue it."Bengal Government is always with the people. We have never taken any anti-people decision. The Centre had stopped the pension of 2.5 lakh people; we have allotted Rs 268 crore to provide them their pension," she said.Taking on the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Central government, Banerjee said it has never taken a single step in the interest of the common people. "They only deliver speeches.

"Despite the huge legacy of debt, we are fulfilling our social responsibilities. Ninety per cent people in the state receive direct benefits from the government. Our actions speak louder than words. We always fulfil the promises we make," Banerjee said.
