Chief Secretary chairs Empowered Committee meeting to discuss R&R Plan proposal of 540 MW Kwar HEP

Chief Secretary, B B Vyas on Monday chaired the meeting of the Empowered Committee constituted for the implementation of Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) Plan of the 540MW Kwar HEP in District Kishtwar.The Empowered Committee discussed the R&R proposals as guided by the draft R&R Policy of the state in terms of the financial assistance/compensation and other facilities to be provided to the Project Affected Families (PAFs). Proposals in regard to local area development activities, social and community development package, education and skill development, infrastructure and public utilities and other welfare schemes were also discussed in the meeting.The Committee directed the concerned departments for working out a mechanism for implementing the R&R Plan after it is finalized and receives approval of the competent authority.
