Designed for outstanding optical performance, the new TS-E lenses can effectively meet the rising demand for high image quality in photography. With its moulded glass aspherical lens elements, these lenses are able to minimise distortion and chromatic aberration. Additionally, users can enjoy edge-to-edge resolution through the addition of two UD lenses one in the TS-E50mm f/2.8L MACRO and TS-E90mm f/2.8L MACRO and one UD lens in the TS-E135mm f/4L MACRO, which is in-built to achieve high resolution and contrast all throughout the images. In addition, users can also move the lens vertically to correct distortion using the shift function. With an increase in tilt and shift range across the three lenses, users will enjoy even greater control over the photography effects they would like to achieve.
With an increased maximum magnification of 0.5x, the lenses are able to excel at capturing the finer details and textures of small subjects, making it a desirable gear to have for product photography. With macro photography leaning towards short depths of field, this lens uses tilt perspective control to capture all the sharp details without any blurring from large apertures, thus enabling shooting capabilities even with a deep depth of field.To enhance user-intuitiveness, the tilt and shift knobs are enlarged to improve operability, in addition to a tilt-locking mechanism added to reduce unintended tilting when shooting. With TS rotation, users can change the axes of movement for tilting and shifting freely simply by moving in a parallel motion to the right angles. Alternatively, both can be combined and adjusted to accommodate varied shooting conditions.

With dual flash heads on the mount ring, users have the flexibility to adjust the positions as desired to control the shadows and highlights on the subject when the photo is taken. The flash heads can also be detached from the mount ring, to serve as an alternative lighting option away from the camera. When focusing on a subject from a very low angle, stability is ensured as a result of the bottom cut-off design on the mount ring. Macro Twin Lite MT-26EX-RT features high-luminance white LEDs, which are brighter than the predecessor’s (MT-24EX) krypton lamps. These are added to enable easier focusing even in low light conditions. To activate this, users simply have to press the shutter button halfway twice. With the guide number raised from 24 to 26, the flash output on Macro Twin Lite MT-26EX-RT is heightened, thus illuminating subjects more brightly.With the reinforcement of the radio transmission wireless multi-flash shooting function on the Macro Twin Lite MT-26EX-RT, users can control up to 5 groups and 15 flash units.
A step up from its predecessor, the slave flash units can be placed at a maximum distance of approximately 10m. Recycle time on the Macro Twin Lite MT-26EX-RT is reduced to approximately 5.5 seconds and 3.3 seconds for quick flash, which are 1.5 seconds or 3.7 seconds for quick flash faster than its predecessor, the MT-24-EX. To gain more flashes per charge and faster recycling time, the Macro Twin Lite MT-26EX-RT can operate by using the Canon CP-E4N Battery Pack, an external power supply (Alternatively, it can be operated by alkaline batteries). Using the CP-E4N for power, the range of normal flash recycle time spans across 0.1 seconds to 2.5 seconds. Correspondingly, the quick flash recycle time range from 0.1 seconds to 2.0 seconds. The flash-per-charge rating jumps to at least 260 full power flashes (up from 100). For enhanced visibility, the new dot-matrix LCD panel of the Macro Twin Lite MT-26EX-RT reflects larger, easy-to-view icons and an extended volume of displayable information. Additionally, the Macro Twin Lite MT-26EX-RT inherits the operating interface of the latest Speedlite EX series, which offers greater user intuitiveness with its backlit operation buttons as well as a select dial and set button.
