Joint Resistance Leadership staged a protest demanding immediate release of political prisoners languishing in state and outside jails of India.Reports said that shortly after the culmination of Friday congregational prayers, scores of protesters assembled in Maisuma locality of Srinagar city.Carrying placards and banners, the protesters alleged that Kashmiri political prisoners are being harassed inside jails.They expressed concern over the plight of prisoners particularly about those languishing in Tihar Jail.“India is indulging in gross human rights violations in Kashmir Valley. We appeal human rights organizations to take cognizance of these violations,” said protesters.The protest rally concluded peacefully. (CNS)
